Director and Founder
I am passionate about children. I believe passionately in providing children with the nurturance and guidance that will enable them to grow to their fullest potential.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked in many capacities with children in the community. After the birth of my second child, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. My neighbors soon began to ask me to babysit, but I wasn’t just babysitting. The children learned how to count, and the ABCs – all while developing social skills and having fun. At the end of the day, they didn’t want to leave “Miss Sue’s”!
This experience led to me to start a home-based childcare center. When the center reached capacity, I began a childcare referral service recommending parents to area home-based childcare programs.
Several years later, while coordinating a literacy program at a local Family Center, I had the opportunity to interact with several center directors. The conversations had a recurring theme: the lack of qualified child care workers in the classroom for pre-school and school-age children. Once again, I had the opportunity to combine work with my passion for quality childcare, and KidKare Childcare Resources (KCR) was born.
I know I was very blessed to be able to stay home with my kids, but many women have to work outside of the home. These hard-working moms deserve access to safe, nurturing care for their children – and peace of mind for themselves! Delivering this level of quality care is our mission at KidKare.
